A filmmaker seeks belonging in the Little People community and explores dwarfism within her family.
The Tallest Dwarf follows filmmaker Julie Wyman as she searches for her place in the little people community and unpacks dwarfism’s impact on her own family. Through intimate stories, creative collaborations, and archival history, the film delves into identity and medicine, asking whether society should change people or the structures that limit them.
Inspired by the documentaries featured on PBS’ Independent Lens, Indie Lens Pop-Up events strengthen community connections and provide free, public spaces for everyone to meet, talk, and take action.
For more than 20 years, the award-winning Indie Lens Pop-Up program has partnered with local organizations across the country to bring people together for film screenings and community-driven conversations.
The Lexington Public Library is proud to be a screening partner of Indie Lens Pop-Up's 2025-26 season.
