This performance showcases vibrant costumes, music, and energetic choreography that embody folk traditions. This program is part of Art Beat, a weeklong celebration of the arts in Lexington.

The program for Ballet Folklorico Tradiciones de mi Tierra begins with an exciting showcase of traditional Mexican dances that highlight the rich cultural heritage of various regions in Mexico. The performance features vibrant costumes, music, and energetic choreography, capturing the essence of the folk traditions. 
After the performance, the atmosphere shifts to an interactive session where the dancers invite the audience to join in. Participants will learn a popular Mexican musical genre, with step-by-step guidance from the dancers. This engaging experience allows audience members to immerse themselves in the rhythm and spirit of Mexican culture, fostering a sense of community and joy as everyone comes together to dance. 

Feel the pulse of creativity by joining us at Lexington Public Library for a week-long celebration of artistic expression filled with workshops, demonstrations, and performances tailored to a wide range of age groups and interests. Each day we will celebrate a different art form, including written and spoken word, drama, dance, visual arts, and music.
